Getting Started

How to enroll in a course

Getting Started

Open the course catalog, choose a course, and select the enrollment option shown on its details page.

  1. Browse Courses in the catalog or Explore in your learner dashboard. Search and filter the results, then open a course to review its curriculum and requirements.
  2. Choose the enrollment option shown. For a paid course, review the checkout total and complete payment. Use My Learning to open the course after enrollment.

Where to find your learning dashboard

Getting Started

Sign in and open Dashboard to see enrolled courses, current progress, and earned certificates.

  1. Open Dashboard after signing in. Use My Learning for courses, Learning Paths for enrolled paths, and Programs for institution-led learning.
  2. Use Progress to review completion and Certificates to view earned credentials. The dashboard search takes you to Explore.

Using the support chat and WhatsApp

Getting Started

Open “Chat with us” in the bottom corner for quick help answers. Choose “Continue in WhatsApp” to review and send your question to Pessivo Careline on +234 814 740 7026.

  1. Select a suggested topic or type a question. The assistant uses Help Center guidance; it cannot inspect your account, change enrollments, or process payments and refunds.
  2. Navigating to another page clears the chat. Choosing Continue in WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with your question filled in; review it before sending.
  3. You can also call +234 814 740 7026 or email support@pessivo.com. Support availability and response times can vary.

Submitting and following up on a support request

Getting Started

Use Contact Support in your dashboard, or use the public Contact Support page without signing in. Keep your ticket reference for follow-up.

  1. When signed in, open Contact Support, choose the category and priority, and explain what happened. Include the affected course or payment, the steps you tried, and the error message.
  2. Signed-in forms accept the file formats shown beside the attachment control, up to 10 MB per file. The guest form and ticket replies are text-only. Remove passwords, verification codes, payment security details, and unrelated personal information.
  3. Without an account or when locked out, use Contact Support on the public site. Enter an email you can access, follow the confirmation email, and choose Confirm and send request. The request reaches support only after confirmation.
  4. Open the ticket to read replies and check its status. Add a text reply while it is unresolved. For a resolved ticket, submit a new request and include the earlier reference. A response time is not guaranteed.

Getting support without signing in

Getting Started

Use Contact Support with an email you can access, confirm the request by email, and follow the private link to read and reply.

  1. Enter your name, email, subject, and message on Contact Support. Check your inbox and spam folder, open the confirmation link, and choose Confirm and send request. Keep the ticket reference shown after confirmation.
  2. Use the private email link and choose Open ticket to access the conversation. If a link expires or was already used, choose Already have a ticket? Request a private access link on Contact Support and enter your email and ticket reference to request another link.
  3. Guest support does not require a new Pessivo account. For an account, refund, or unenrollment request, use the verified email belonging to the affected account. A ticket from a different email does not prove ownership.
  4. Private ticket links provide access to your conversation. Do not forward them. On a shared device, use End ticket access when finished. Guest messages and replies do not support attachments.

Courses & Learning

Can't access my course

Courses & Learning

Confirm that you are signed in with the account used to enroll, then check My Learning for the course.

  1. Check that you used the same email address or Google account that you enrolled with.
  2. If you bought a Learning Path or joined a Program, open that learning experience and check the course order or cohort schedule. A course may become available only after earlier requirements are completed.
  3. If you were charged but enrollment is missing, check Billing and contact support with your payment reference before paying again.

Understanding course progress tracking

Courses & Learning

Complete the lesson activities and any required quizzes in the course player, then review progress in My Learning.

  1. Use the completion controls shown in each lesson. Opening a course or watching part of a video does not necessarily complete the lesson. Required graded quizzes may need a passing score.
  2. For a Learning Path, complete its required course sequence. For a Program, also check required assignments and feedback. Each learning product has its own completion record.
  3. If saving or submission fails, keep the page open, read the error, and check your connection. Confirm whether completion was recorded before trying again. Contact support with the course and lesson names if progress remains incorrect.

Quiz attempts, scores, and completion

Courses & Learning

Read the quiz instructions and attempts remaining before starting. The creator sets the pass mark, attempt limit, and which score counts toward completion.

  1. Quizzes can include multiple-choice, true-or-false, and short-answer questions. Answer the required questions and submit using the quiz controls.
  2. A quiz may allow 1, 2, 3, 5, or unlimited attempts and use the highest, latest, or average score. Graded quizzes stop accepting attempts after you pass or use the available attempts. Practice quizzes let you review feedback and follow the retry options shown.
  3. If submission fails, keep the page open and check the error and your connection. Check whether a result was recorded before retrying. Contact support if your attempts or progress look incorrect.

Opening PDFs and lesson resources

Courses & Learning

Open the lesson in your course player. PDF lessons have a document viewer, and supplied supporting files appear under Resources.

  1. Select a file under Resources to open it. Available files depend on what the instructor supplied for that lesson.
  2. If a document will not open, confirm your course access and try a current browser. Share the lesson and file names with support if it remains unavailable.

Finding a missing certificate

Courses & Learning

Check Certificates after completing all requirements for a course, Learning Path, or Program that offers a certificate.

  1. Check unfinished lessons and required quizzes. Learning Paths require their required courses; Programs can also require assignments and facilitator grading. Joining individual courses does not enroll you in their path or Program.
  2. A certificate must be enabled for the learning product and any required certificate review must be complete. If your learning is complete but the certificate is absent, send support the product name and completion details.
  3. Download an available certificate as a PDF or use its public verification link. Anyone with that link can see its public credential details, so share it deliberately.
  4. For an incorrect name or a revoked, expired, or replaced certificate, contact support with the certificate reference. Updating your profile does not automatically replace an issued certificate.

Requesting removal from a course, path, or Program

Courses & Learning

Submit a support ticket to request unenrollment. Only an administrator can remove the requested enrollment.

  1. Use Contact Support and identify the course, Learning Path, or Program and your reason. If you also want a refund, say so clearly and include the payment reference.
  2. Removing an enrollment stops the access provided by that enrollment. It preserves your recorded progress, certificates, and payment history. Another valid enrollment may still provide access to a shared course.
  3. Unenrollment by itself does not refund a payment. Full refund requests have separate eligibility, approval, and processing steps. Learners and course creators do not have a self-service unenroll control.

Free courses and enrollment availability

Courses & Learning

A course marked Free costs learners nothing to enroll. A creator may pay a publication fee, but that does not turn the course into a paid purchase for learners.

  1. Check the course details and use the available enrollment action. A free course may have a limit on new enrollments or a closing date. When enrollment is closed, the course may stop accepting new learners.
  2. A closing date or enrollment limit normally affects new joins. Existing learners can continue through My Learning while their access remains active.
  3. A paid course discounted to zero with a valid promo code can also be enrolled in for free. Review the final total and choose Enroll for free to complete enrollment.
  4. An unavailable course or an institution that is not accepting new learners cannot be joined merely because it appears in an old link. If you already enrolled and cannot continue, contact support.

Messaging your instructor and reading announcements

Courses & Learning

Use Messages for private text conversations with the named instructor of a course you can access. Check course announcements for learning updates.

  1. Open Messages and select the course conversation or start one using the available control. Either the learner or the named course instructor can begin the conversation while course access is active.
  2. Messages are text-only; file attachments and lesson discussion forums are not available. Use course resources for learning files and Contact Support for billing, account, or access problems.
  3. Course announcements come from the instructor. Program announcements, deadlines, and assignment feedback appear in the Program delivery area. Notification delivery depends on your preferences and availability.

Learning Paths

What is a Learning Path?

Learning Paths

A Learning Path is a curated sequence of courses. Enroll in the path itself to track path progress, unlock sequential courses, and earn an enabled path certificate.

  1. Review the curriculum, price, course order, and certificate availability on the path details page.
  2. Enrolling in individual courses does not automatically enroll you in their Learning Path. Join the path itself for path progress and an available path certificate.

Starting and continuing a Learning Path

Learning Paths

Open Learning Paths in the catalog, review the curriculum and price, then use the enrollment option offered. Continue from your learner dashboard.

  1. Choose Enroll in Path or Buy Learning Path as shown. Check the required courses, progression, prerequisites, price, and certificate availability before confirming.
  2. Your enrollment follows the course sequence available when you joined; later published changes do not automatically replace it. Flexible paths let you choose available courses; sequential paths unlock courses as requirements are completed.
  3. If a path is no longer accepting new learners, an existing enrollment may still be available from your dashboard. Contact support if an enrolled path cannot be opened.

Institutional Programs

How institutional Programs work

Institutional Programs

Programs are institution-led learning experiences that can combine Learning Paths and standalone courses with a cohort, facilitators, deadlines, announcements, assignments, and a separate credential.

  1. Read the Program description and cohort information before joining. Availability and enrollment options depend on the institution.
  2. Check My Programs for announcements, required assignments, deadlines, and facilitator feedback.

Joining and completing a Program

Institutional Programs

Join through an institutional assignment, invitation, or an available public Program. Use My Programs to follow your cohort, complete required courses and assignments, and view your Program progress.

  1. Follow the invitation or assignment instructions, or use the enrollment option on an available public Program.
  2. In My Programs, open your Program and cohort. Complete the required learning and submit assignments by the displayed deadlines.
  3. Check feedback and completion requirements. A Program credential is separate from course and Learning Path certificates.

Account & Settings

Setting up your learning profile

Account & Settings

Use My Profile for personal and learning information, and Account Settings for preferences, notifications, and security.

  1. In My Profile, choose Edit Profile to update your name, photo, personal details, learning goal, mentorship needs, and About You information. Save before leaving.
  2. Open your avatar menu and choose Account Settings. Preferences contains language and time zone choices; Notifications controls delivery choices; Security contains password and two-factor controls.
  3. Your sign-in email is read-only in the profile. Contact support if your sign-in method or account details need attention. A language preference does not mean every page or course is translated.

Signing in and verifying your email

Account & Settings

Use the email or Google account you registered with. For email signup, follow the verification email; use Forgot password on the sign-in form if you need a password reset.

  1. Check spam or junk folders for the verification email. If needed, use the resend verification option and follow the most recent email.
  2. For a Google account, choose Google on the sign-in form. If two-factor authentication is enabled, enter the code from your authenticator app.
  3. Follow the password requirements shown when creating or resetting a password. Contact support if you cannot recover access; never send your password or authentication codes.

Recovering access to two-factor authentication

Account & Settings

Use another registered authenticator if available. If all authenticators are lost, contact support without signing in and explain the account-access problem.

  1. If a code is rejected, check your device clock and enter the current six-digit code from the correct authenticator. Do not reuse an expired code.
  2. Use Contact Support with the account email. Support must verify ownership before resetting two-factor access; an email request alone does not guarantee a reset. Never send a password, authenticator setup key, or verification code.
  3. After an approved reset, sign in again and complete the required authenticator setup. A password reset does not remove two-factor protection.
  4. Learner and creator accounts that have not enabled two-factor authentication can continue with their usual sign-in method. Administrators must use two-factor authentication.

Managing alerts, emails, and browser notifications

Account & Settings

Use your notification preferences and the dashboard bell to control optional updates and review activity.

  1. Learners can open Account Settings → Notifications. Creators can open Profile → Preferences for their creator notification choices. Save changes after selecting the available categories and email frequency.
  2. Browser notifications require permission on each device and a supported browser. If alerts do not arrive, check both your Pessivo preferences and browser notification permissions.
  3. Important account, enrollment, payment, and certificate messages may still be sent even when optional messages are disabled. Delivery can be delayed; check the relevant dashboard page for the current status.
  4. Use the notification bell to read available updates. A muted or missed notification does not change an enrollment, payment, assignment deadline, or certificate status.

Reviewing sign-ins and connected accounts

Account & Settings

In learner Account Settings, open Security to review Active Sessions and Connected Accounts.

  1. Review the browser, device, and recent activity shown under Active Sessions. Your current session is marked Current. Device or location details may be unavailable.
  2. If other sessions are listed, use Logout All Other Sessions to end them. If you suspect unauthorised access, also change your password and contact support.
  3. Review Connected Accounts before disconnecting a sign-in method. Keep another working way to sign in. Creator profile security pages have different controls; use those shown for your account.

Payments & Billing

Payments and full refund requests

Payments & Billing

Pay through the methods offered by Paystack at checkout. To request a full refund, submit a support ticket using the account or email used for the purchase.

  1. Review the product, currency, discount, fees, and final total before paying. Check Billing afterward for the purchase and payment reference. Do not pay again if you were charged but confirmation is still pending.
  2. Submit the support ticket within five days of the purchase. Course purchases require less than 30% completion for refund review. Include the product, purchase date, payment reference, and reason. Only completed paid purchases can be refunded; approval is not guaranteed.
  3. An administrator reviews the request and can create a full refund for the eligible purchase. Partial refunds are not offered. Approved and Processing do not mean the money has arrived; check the refund status and your payment account.
  4. Once the refund is confirmed, access provided by that purchase is removed. An independent enrollment or another purchase may still provide access to the same course. Reply to the original ticket if you need an update.

Using a promo code at checkout

Payments & Billing

At course checkout, open “Have a promo code?”, enter the code, and choose Apply. Review the updated total before completing enrollment.

  1. Check that the discount appears in the order summary. A code may be unavailable because it has expired, reached its limit, or does not apply to your purchase.
  2. Choose Remove to clear the code. If the price changes, review the new total and confirm again. When the total is zero, choose Enroll for free to finish enrollment.

Charged but not enrolled

Payments & Billing

Check Billing and My Learning using the account you paid with. If payment confirmation or course access is still missing, contact support with the payment reference before paying again.

  1. Return to the checkout confirmation page if it is still open and follow the message shown. A delayed confirmation does not by itself mean you need to make another payment.
  2. Include the course title, amount, purchase date, and payment reference in your support request. Never share a full card number, card security code, bank password, or one-time code.

For Instructors

Creating your first course

For Instructors

Start from Create Course in the creator dashboard, save a draft, and complete the course setup and publication steps shown.

  1. Enter the title, description, learning objectives, skills, requirements, and course details. Add a thumbnail, modules, and lessons. Save Draft before leaving; resume the selected course from Learning Products → Drafts.
  2. Use Review & Publish to find missing requirements. Publication requires at least one module and a video lesson with a supported link, plus valid quiz questions and settings where quizzes are used.
  3. Review the paid or free publication options available to your account. Free courses for individual creators require admin approval or a verified flat-fee payment. Paying this fee does not charge learners for the course.
  4. Check the final course status after submission. Pending Review is awaiting a decision. A saved draft or successful payment alone is not a substitute for the Published status. Certificate branding has its own review.

Adding videos, PDFs, resources, and quizzes

For Instructors

In the course outline, add a lesson and choose its content type. Complete its required fields, save your work, and preview the lesson before submitting the course.

  1. For video lessons, paste a supported YouTube, Vimeo, or Loom link and check that the video is available to learners. For PDF lessons, upload a PDF up to 10 MB.
  2. Supporting resources accept PDF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT files up to 10 MB each. Use clear file names and preview the files.
  3. For quizzes, add questions and correct answers, then review the pass mark, attempt limit, and scoring choices. Explain any completion requirements in the lesson instructions.

Publishing and renewing a free course

For Instructors

For individual creators, free publication uses admin approval or the flat-fee option shown during publishing. Both keep the course free for learners.

  1. Review the free enrollment duration and enrollment allowance before submitting or paying. The values displayed for that publication term apply; they can change for a later renewal.
  2. An approval request remains Pending Review until decided. If paying a flat fee, wait for payment verification and the final publication status. If charged but publication is not confirmed, contact support before paying again.
  3. When the free enrollment term ends, review Free Access in course management. Renewal requires another approval or payment where offered. Existing learners keep their existing access.
  4. Do not confuse free publication with draft expiry. Unfinished drafts have separate inactivity and upload rules. Institutional accounts should use the publication options available to their organisation.

Saving and submitting course certificate branding

For Instructors

Save the issuer and signer details, preview the certificate, and submit it for review. A course certificate template upload is optional.

  1. Open Course Certificates in course management and enable certificates. Enter Issuer name, Signer name, and Signer role. Logo and signature uploads are optional PNG, JPG, or WebP images up to 5 MB each.
  2. Use Preview Certificate and Download Sample PDF to check the draft. An optional template can be a PDF or a supported image; follow the upload limits shown. It is supporting material for review and does not replace the generated certificate layout.
  3. Choose Submit for Review. After submission, the preview and sample show the submitted branding. Saving draft changes does not change the submitted certificate until you choose Update Submission.
  4. Check the review status and note. For a rejection, read Reason for rejection, choose Edit Submission, correct it, and resubmit. A changed submission needs another review before it can be used for new certificates.
  5. If saving or submitting fails, read the message and keep your work available while correcting the issue. Do not assume the changes were saved. Learning Path and Program certificate forms can have different requirements; follow their displayed fields.

Course duration and accurate course details

For Instructors

Course duration is calculated from the lesson durations you save. Update the lessons when the estimated learning time changes.

  1. Use clear course titles, descriptions, learning objectives, skills, and requirements. Required descriptions must contain meaningful text rather than only empty formatting.
  2. Set an appropriate duration for each lesson in the course editor and save it. The course total follows those lesson values; it is not a separate manual course-length setting.
  3. Preview the course details and curriculum after editing. Check the save result before leaving, and address the message shown if a change is rejected.

Using AI assistance in course creation

For Instructors

Use the AI assistance offered in the course builder to draft suggestions, then review and edit the result before applying it.

  1. Start with a clear course title, description, audience, and learning objectives. Open the available AI assistance for outlines, lesson content, quizzes, or thumbnails.
  2. Review every suggestion for accuracy, relevance, appropriate language, correct quiz answers, and permission to use any material. Apply only the content you want, then save the course.
  3. Text and image generation have usage limits. Check the allowance and next available time shown in the builder. If generation is unavailable, retry the usage check when offered or continue editing manually.
  4. Do not include passwords, private learner records, payment details, or confidential documents in a prompt. AI suggestions do not approve or publish a course for you.

Technical Support

Troubleshoot video and loading issues

Technical Support

Refresh the page, check your connection, and try a current browser. If the issue continues, contact support.

  1. Check your connection and try reopening the lesson in a current browser. Save unfinished text before refreshing.
  2. For videos, check the player volume and device sound. Try another browser if the player cannot load.
  3. Send support the course and lesson names, device and browser, error text, and a screenshot if the issue continues. Do not include passwords or verification codes.
